Comparative Medical Science Training Program

Dr. Nicole Baumgarth successfully renewed the National Institutes of Health “Comparative Medical Science Training Program”.  This training program is to support graduate level research training for DVMs at the University of California, Davis, to address a national shortage of research-trained veterinarians.

Animal Models of Infectious Diseases Training Program

Dr. Jay V. Solnick competitively renewed the Animal Models of Infectious Diseases Training Program grant through the National Institutes for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, NIH.  This program seeks to train PhD students to use animal models to study human infectious diseases. Research conducted by these trainees will have broad impact on the understanding, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases, which are among the most important causes of human illness.
