Dr. Solnick is a molecular microbiologist and infectious disease physician. His laboratory uses the rhesus macaque and mouse models to understand the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that commonly infects the stomach where it may cause peptic ulcer disease or gastric adenocarcinoma.
